Hatebreed

Hatebreed was formed in 1994 in Connecticut. They began by recording a three song demo and selling it at local shows. Two of those three songs would eventually be released on a split seven inch with New York's Neglect in 1995. They followed that up with the highly acclaimed 7"/cassette EP "Under the Knife" in 1996 and went out on tour around the east coast/midwest with the UKHC band Voorhees. The following year (1997) they released Satisfaction is the Death of Desire on Victory Records, then the home of some of the biggest bands in hardcore. Satisfaction sold more copies than any other debut in the history of the record company.

Tours with national hard rock & metal bands such as Motorhead, Danzig, Slayer, Deftones, Entombed and Sepultura influenced their music and brought them to the attention of many non-hardcore/metalcore fans. These influences were apparent on the band's next two releases, 2002's Perseverance, and especially 2003's The Rise of Brutality.

After the release of The Rise of Brutality, the band took part in the 2004 Unholy Alliance tour in Europe with Slayer, Slipknot and Mastodon. In 2005 they continued to tour and In June, 2006, Hatebreed went on an extensive European tour which included a performance at the Download Festival in Donnington, UK. Immediately following this European tour, they played the main stage at Ozzfest 2006 alongside DragonForce, Lacuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, and co-headliners System of a Down.

The band's fourth album, Supremacy, was released in August, 2006, their first through Roadrunner Records, featuring new guitarist Frank Novinec (who had previously spent time playing with Ringworm, Terror and Integrity). Jasta described it as an "all-out onslaught of completely adrenaline-charged, in-your-face brutality".

On September 13, 2006, former guitarist Lou "Boulder" Richards committed suicide at the age of 35; he had played on 1997's Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire and left the band in 2002.

In 2007 Hatebreed headlined the second stage on the Ozzfest tour and continued to tour the Supremacy album taking Black Dahlia Murder, Exodus, Napalm Death, The Acacia strain and many others as support bands. Hatebreed appeared at Wacken Open Air festival in 2008 alongside Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom, and Avantasia. In April 2008, Hatebreed signed a worldwide deal with E1/Koch Records for the release of their live DVD, a live album, and a covers album entitled "For The Lions". On September 2, 2008 they released their concert DVD, entitled "Live Dominance" which went #1 on the billboard chart.

"For The Lions" which was released on May 5 2009. Artists covered included Metallica, D.R.I., Crowbar, The Cro-Mags and more.

On February 9, 2009 Guitarist Sean Martin quit the band. Sean quit the band to pursue other interests in music that are more studio-related. However, Sean remains close to and in contact with Hatebreed members.

Hatebreed's fifth studio album, entitled Hatebreed, has been released September 29, 2009 and included original guitar player Wayne Lozinak.

In 2010, Hatebreed headlined the jager stage at the third annual Mayhem Festival, alongside Atreyu, Chimaira, 3 Inches of Blood, Shadows Fall, and other bands. On February 17, 2011, it was announced that Hatebreed would partake in the fourth annual Mayhem Festival to yet again headline the Jägermeister stage but for 3 dates only.

In 2011 Hatebreed embarked on a 9 week tour of arenas, large clubs & theaters with Five Finger Death Punch & All That Remains.

Nirvana

Nirvana was an American rock band that was formed by singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting being Dave Grohl, who joined the band in 1990.
In the late 1980s Nirvana established itself as part of the Seattle grunge scene, releasing its first album Bleach for the independent record label Sub Pop in 1989. The band eventually came to develop a sound that relied on dynamic contrasts, often between quiet verses and loud, heavy choruses. After signing to major label DGC Records, Nirvana found unexpected success with "Smells Like Teen Spirit", the first single from the band's second album Nevermind (1991). Nirvana's sudden success widely popularized alternative rock as a whole, and as the band's frontman Cobain found himself referred to in the media as the "spokesman of a generation", with Nirvana being considered the "flagship band" of Generation X. Nirvana's third studio album In Utero (1993), challenged the group's audience, featuring an abrasive, less-mainstream sound.
Nirvana's brief run ended following the death of Kurt Cobain in 1994, but various posthumous releases have been issued since, overseen by Novoselic, Grohl, and Cobain's widow Courtney Love. Since its debut, the band has sold over 25 million albums in the United States alone, and over 50 million worldwide.

Defeated Sanity

Defeated Sanity was formed in 1994 in Dachsbach, Bavaria as a project of Wolfgang Teske (guitar) and Lille Gruber (drums) with the intention to play the most brutal and intense death metal possible. The band started playing shows in 1996 with the help of session musicians Jonas Gruber (bass) and Robert Colnik (vocals). With this line-up the band also recorded the two demos “Devoured By The Black” (1996) and “Withdrawn From Beauty” (1998).

The next step was to find musicians able to play the very complicated songs, and they ended up being Tino Köhler (bass) and Christian Münzner (guitar). In 2001, Czech label GRODHAISN PRODUCTIONS released a split CD with Defeated Sanity (with Marcus Keller doing vocals) and Poppy Seed Grinder. Also recorded in 2001 was the “Collapsing Human Failures” contribution to the Split 7” EP with Imperious Malevolence, which would be the last recording featuring guitarist Christian Münzner (who then became part of Necrophagist).

In late 2004, the band released their debut full length album, “Prelude to the Tragedy” on UK label Grindethic Records.

Defeated Sanity underwent further line-up changes with Jens Staschel joining on vocals, Christian Kühn on guitar, and Jacob Schmidt on bass. In August 2006, the band entered Soundlodge Studios and recorded their second album, “Psalms Of The Moribund” which was released in early 2007 on Grindethic Records.

After Psalms Jens left. Then on 9th July 2008 founding member Wolfgang left Defeated Sanity, Wolfgang’s reason being that he could no longer keep up with second guitarist Chistian Kuhn. In the official statement by Lille it was made clear that the band still deeply respected Wolfgang and his contribution to Defeated Sanity saying, “You will always be a part of DS, no matter what! My deepest admiration goes to your musical and overall wisdom and skill.”

Defeated Sanity began looking for a replacement vocalist as soon as Jens left so they could continue touring but in the abscence of a vocalist the wrting process was begun. On 26th June 2009 AJ Magana (Ex-Disgorge,Ex-Despondancy) was announced as the new vocalist (via myspace). Soon after this Defeated Sanity embarked on a European headlinging tour, however this tour was completed without AJ as he was deported by UK customs officers for improper paperwork. Defeated Sanity re-toured the UK in February 2010 and AJ was again deported.

April 2010 Saw the release of “Chapters Of Repugnance” on Willowtip Records to exceptional reviews, this was backed up by a series of festival shows. On the 12th of September 2010 founding member Wolfgang Teske died.

Suicide Silence

Suicide Silence is an American extreme metal band from Riverside, California. The group consists of vocalist Mitch Lucker, guitarists Chris Garza and Mark Heylmun, drummer Alex Lopez and bassist Dan Kenny. Formed in 2002, the band has released three full-length studio albums, one EP and seven music videos. The group has been met with a great amount of praise and favorable reviews while even during 2009, Suicide Silence was awarded with the Revolver Golden God award for "Best New Talent".

History
Formation, debut EP and The Cleansing (2002–2008)

Suicide Silence were founded in 2002 in Riverside, California and were at that time, a side-project of many of the members of other groups. The band performed their first show at a local area within Riverside and at that time, the line-up consisted of the members Chris Garza and Rick Ash as guitarists, Mike Bodkins as bassist, Josh Goddard as drummer and two vocalists, Mitch Lucker and Tanner Womack. Shortly after their first performance, Womack was fired from the band and they released their first demo the following year. They released their second demo in 2004. By the proceeding year, the members took the band more seriously and were no-longer deemed as a side project, they would then advance to record their third and final demo in 2006 after the band recorded and released their first public studio quality material entitled, Suicide Silence EP which was released through Third Degree Records and later re-released in the UK through the English label In at the Deep End Records. Drummer, Josh Goddard departed from the band in 2006 and was replaced by Alex Lopez who was the former guitarist for the bands Blacheart Eulogy and The Funeral Pyre before his joining.
Two years later, the band signed to Century Media and released their debut full-length album The Cleansing. The album was mixed by Tue Madsen, produced by John Travis and features artwork by Dave McKean. It debuted at number 94 on the Billboard 200, selling 7,250 copies in its first week of release. The sales of that week ending combined with its later sales made The Cleansing one of the best-selling debut albums in Century Media history. With the success of their debut album, Suicide Silence were included to take part in Mayhem Festival that took place during the summer of 2008. Afterward, they toured Europe with Parkway Drive and Bury Your Dead, following a successful US tour with the same bands. Suicide Silence then followed along with a tour in Australia with Parkway Drive, A Day to Remember and The Acacia Strain in mid-2008 during the time when they were included to perform at Sweat Fest. At this point Suicide Silence were beginning to gain a wide range of fans throughout the world. While returning back home from the continuous tours, the band covered the song "Engine No. 9" by Deftones and released the cover on their limited edition "Green Monster" single as well as iTunes all during the same year.

No Time to Bleed (2008–2010)

Shortly before embarking on Mayhem Festival in summer 2008, Suicide Silence's MySpace profile title read "Suicide Silence (Is writing a new album)", which was the first indication of ensuring the upcoming of their second album. On June 26, 2008, Mitch Lucker appeared on the Headbangers Ball blog podcast. In the interview, Lucker stated that the album would be recorded through tracks as opposed of being recorded live, such as The Cleansing. He also said the new album would "blow The Cleansing away." Machine was chosen by the band to be the producer of the album. The title for it was revealed as being No Time to Bleed.
Suicide Silence began recording No Time to Bleed in February with production by acclaimed producer Machine and engineering by Will Putney. During Music as a Weapon as well as the band's Cleansing the Nation tour, they began to perform the songs "No Time to Bleed", "Your Creations", "Lifted" and "Wake Up" months before the release of the album. In April they received the Revolver Golden God award for "Most Innovative Band" and performed at the awards show. Suicide Silence were included on 2009's Pedal to the Metal tour, along with the bands Mudvayne, Static-X, Bury Your Dead, Dope and Black Label Society. During the same year, the group was awarded the Golden God award for "Best New Talent".

Suicide Silence released No Time to Bleed on June 30, 2009 through Century Media. The album peaked at #32 on the Billboard 200, selling 14,000 copies in the first week in the United States alone. The opening track from the album, "Wake Up" was released as a digital download-only EP which includes the original song, a live performance of it and a remix handled by Shawn Crahan of Slipknot. A music video was produced for the song as well and made its debut premiere on Fearnet. "Genocide" was released as the album's second single. Its music video was created in collaboration with Bloody Disgusting and a remix for the song was featured in the Saw VI soundtrack. Suicide Silence announced production for a music video for the song, "Disengage", of which was released as a single on April 20, 2010. The video for it was released during June 2010. The band played throughout the entire Warped Tour 2010 on the Altec Lansing Stage. In October, the group began their first headlining tour in two years with support from MyChildren MyBride, Molotov Solution, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza and Conducting from the Grave.

The Black Crown (2011—present)

By 2011, Suicide Silence began preparing their third full-length album in Big Bear, California with Steve Evetts as the selected producer. During March, the group performed at California's Metalfest, and a week later, Nevada's Extreme Thing festivals, at both of these performances, the band confirmed that the new album would be titled The Black Crown. Working titles for the album were "Cancerous Skies", "Human Violence" and "Fuck Everything". When asked by Kerrang!, Lucker revealed that the album's lyrical themes would feature more of the personal topics that No Time to Bleed had in-concept rather than the anti-religious theme that The Cleansing held. Lucker explained "I still have the same beliefs and same views, but I'm more open to everything. At this point in my life, I don't see the good in making people hate you for something you say. This record [The Black Crown] is for everybody." The song "Human Violence" premiered on radio station Liquid Metal on May 13, 2011. The Black Crown was released on July 12, 2011 and sold over 14,400 copies in the United States alone during its first week of release, which had it debuting at position number 28 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The group was included on the line-up for the fourth annual Mayhem Festival, again playing on the Extreme Stage with other metal acts including Machine Head, Trivium and All Shall Perish during July and August 2011.

Styles and influences

Suicide Silence perform an extreme metal musical style known as deathcore, which is a fusion between death metal and metalcore. The band perform this style as well as gain influences from several other extreme musical genres such as black metal, grindcore, and mathcore. The mathcore elements can be seen in the varied speed changes and complex time signatures in the band's music. The vocals of Mitch Lucker are frequently fluctuating between death growls and high-pitched screamed vocals used in black metal. The drumming is very fast-paced, grindcore influenced, and employs a liberal use of double bass drumming and blast beats.
The band members themselves have stated that they are influenced from groups such as Meshuggah, Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Necrophagist, Nile, Slipknot, Deftones and Korn.

In January/February 2008, the band embarked on a U.S. headlining tour with 3 Inches of Blood, Hate Eternal, and Decrepit Birth, followed by another alongside Brain Drill and Animosity. They were on Hot Topic's "Summer Slaughter Tour" with Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, Vader, Whitechapel, and Despised Icon.

They appeared on the Hot Topic Stage in the 2009 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. In late 2009, they embarked on a US tour with Finland's Children of Bodom and Skeletonwitch. In August 2010 they played at the Hevy Music Festival near Folkestone, UK.

Musical style and influences

The Black Dahlia Murder have been stated to play within the genres of metalcore, melodic death metal and deathcore. The band's music makes use of the death metal sound, containing elements such as blast beats and fast death metal style. The influences of the band include groups such as Carcass, At the Gates, Darkane, Dissection, Darkthrone, Morbid Angel, The Haunted, In Flames, Dimension Zero, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Pantera and Megadeth. Vocalist Trevor Strnad alternates between deep, throaty "death metal growls," and high pitched shrieking. When asked to describe what kind of music the band plays, vocalist Trevor Strnad commented: "I've always said that we're melodic death metal. We are mostly influenced by Swedish bands and Carcass. The heavy end of our sound is the American style creeping in, with some Floridian influences like Morbid Angel, Malevolent Creation and that kind of stuff. We've been labeled more often because of our look than our sound, which is dumb, and speaks volumes about what kind of geniuses are out there!"
However, in an interview with Uranium Magazine, Strnad also stated, "Some bands that get labeled as metalcore are actually good, like Between the Buried and Me or The Red Chord. Metal is what I grew up with, and then I learned about punk and hardcore. But a lot of our ethics, the way we carry ourselves, is more punk...I like that hardcore has a sense of community without the competition you see in metal."

Cozy Republic

Formation of a group usually has a background that is not much different among its personnel. Could be because they are united in the school, neighborhood, hang out, or it could be through a social network. But clearly, the group could be formed by the same passion and desire for inter-personnel would be 'something'.

Likewise with Cozy Republic. Long dream of a state of comfortable, peaceful, tranquil, quiet no hatred so as to flow of creative ideas. A situation which is still a desire to continue to be realized, that's what makes Cozy Republic was born in 2006. Cozy Republic seemed to want to answer and give it a peaceful solution. Cozy Republic in the same way we all can enjoy it through the strains of beautiful ringing tone and the array of poetic lines. A situation which we all desire. Si'ar universal in the lyrics and tone of a motivating Cozy eventually be the center of the Republic in music.

As a young man who had a talent for music, Cozy was also working as a producer to work on the compilation album Music Factory, Kentucky Fried Chicken. As a producer, Cozy has a large peluag to include his work. Thus was born the single Can Faithful, to complete the compilation album Music Factory. Reggae colors offered direct the attention of other pop songs. Reaction to exceptional market. Double Platinum success in singles can be achieved through the Faithful.

Looking at the fact the song can be perceived by the market. Cozypun continue to spawn a musical story album. Under the banner of Greenlabs, Republic Uye album was officially released in 2008. Composition of personnel in this group also has a modification of the single can be Faithful. They are the Cozy (guitar & vocals), Edmond (Keyboard), Fany (Bass), Renold (guitar), Adi (Flute / Percussion) and Gannes (Drum).

In album Uye Republic has one single hits titled Black & White. Despite having a relatively strong material, but unfortunately the way the album is arguably the most Cozy. Fundamental elements that make it such a promotional album karenan run as 'reluctant reluctantly'. In fact, that makes this band different from many other reggae band is the theme of love that they present. They are no longer talking about the beach, social or political issues like other reggae bands. An offer of music and lyrics are light, pleasant to hear, should not be wrinkled forehead to enjoy it forth in songs such as Black & White, I Still Have Love, Rasta Cats, Republic Uye, Similar boyfriend, and the Angels.
With such a use within the material, can still embrace the Republic Uye Cozy Peoples to be more loyal to the group on this one. There is a process of crystallization of loyalty to the fans with Cozy Republic.
After a long hiatus, Cozy Republic has re-emerged in 2010 with the album spawned the Love 17's as his second album. To strengthen the band's formation, Cozypun with several new players with the presence of Indha (keyboard) and Rival / Boy (guest bass) to complete the sequence Cozy Bastian (guitar & vocals), P'nyot (guitar) and UV (drums).

Although the album has been carefully prepared, but in Tiger's Cozy republic never be paired with a variety of recording company. Two to three labels 'crush' elegance album Love 17's, apparently still not be married. Throughout the year until Tiger Rabbit, Cozy continually strive to create a unified vision with those who claim to have the financial strength. But that does not match, the summit did not produce an agreement.
Not to be outdone by the state, at the end of 2011, jodohpun met. True the saying goes, 'If you do not run to where the mate'. PHOENIX party is, one recording company with a vision and in line with Cozy Republic. The songs are selected as 'dowry' after Ijab swore Kabul is single Angel. This song is the recycling of their first album in 2008. With the touch of different music, this single is expected to penetrate the market more aggressively again.

It seemed wrong to dare to embrace finally PHOENIX Cozy Republic. PHOENIX party must at least own a trip to watch the movement of Cozy Republic. Fairly clear indication of such a movement, gigging schedule began slowly Cozy Republic solid. Each week is not less than two dijajahinya water off the stage. In fact, not uncommon in a single day should be a gig in two different places.
Like the magma, Cozy Republic actually just waiting to explode any time. The whole song is very strong material. The concept of music offers something different. So Cozy Republic was just waiting for the right moment to dominate Indonesia's music (*)
